Environmental Issues
Due to human activities environment is facing so many problems from decade. Human activities are increasing against the tolerance power of natural environment due to this so many undesirable changes are happening on the earth environment. Global warming, rise in the water of sea level, Acid rain, flood, earthquake, volcano eruption, tornado, storm, and so many other natural disasters are results of human activities. These disasters are natural but due to human activities its number and strength increases. Human can not deny there harmful activities towards nature. It's the human nature that he develop the place where he go according to his need but its not always good for all. For these changes animals and our natural environment compromises a lot.
These environmental issues are not small now because of all these issues dangerous sword is hanging on the head of earth and humans. So now it's the time to wake up and take a big step for protecting our earth and environment. Now every human being should be aware about environmental threats and how it would be protected. According to research conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency, the air quality in most homes has reached critical levels of pollution that may contribute the increase in allergies, asthma and other common health problems. Earth atmosphere becoming toxic day by day because of lot of poisonous gases are daily producing by factories, automobiles and other resources. These gases are very harmful for humans and animal's health which result so many breathing abnormalities occurs.
Issues surrounding the environment have been high on everyone's agenda in recent years thanks to stark realisation that our fossil fuel supplies are quickly running out. If we all take a step ahead for saving our environment then we all can definitely make revolutionary changes. Every human being should have to come forward for the sake of earth. Like people take good care of their homes they keep their home clean same way earth is also our home we living here so we need to take a big steps for minimizing environmental destruction and avoiding all those things which leave a negative impact on our environment. And for all this there is one big thing which we all have to stop thinking that one person can't do anything because participation of every single person can leave a great impact for this agenda.
Climate Change: Climate change is the process which leaves long term effect on environment. Now a days climate change term refers the changes in modern environment. Anthropogenic factors are human activities that change the environment and influence climate. The biggest factor of present concern is the increase in CO2 levels due to emissions from fossil fuel combustion, followed by aerosols, which exert a cooling effect, and cement manufacture. Other factors, including land use, ozone depletion, animal agriculture and deforestation, also affect climate.
Threats to Biological Diversity: Presently the Earth is undergoing the Holocene Mass Extinction, an era of unprecedented number of species extinctions. Human influence over the Earth's ecosystems has been so extensive within the last 10,000 years, that scientists have difficulty estimating the total number of species lost in this era. Historically the main threat to biodiversity has been a set of threats generated from the overpopulation of humans: mass agriculture, deforestation, overgrazing, slash-and-burn, urban development, pesticide use. Worldwide, the effects of global warming add a potentially catastrophic threat to global biological diversity.
Land degradation: Land degradation is a global problem, mainly related to agricultural. The main outcome of land degradation is a substantial reduction in the productivity of the land. Land degradation therefore has potentially disastrous effects on lakes and reservoirs that are designed to alleviate flooding, provide irrigation, and generate hydroelectricity. . Significant land degradation from seawater inundation, particularly in river deltas and on low-lying islands, is a potential hazard. As a result of sea-level rise from climate change, salinity levels can reach levels where agriculture becomes impossible.
Hazards of Nuclear Material: There are concerns that a combination of human and mechanical error at a nuclear facility could result significant harm to people and the environment. Operating nuclear reactors contain large amounts of radioactive fission products which, if dispersed, could pose a direct radiation hazard, contaminate soil and vegetation, and be ingested by humans and animals. Human exposure at high enough levels can cause both short-term illness and death, and longer-term deaths by cancer and other diseases.
Overpopulation Impact on Environment: Overpopulation has had a major impact on the environment of Earth starting at least as early as the 20th century. Many posit that the human population has expanded, enabled by over-exploiting natural resources, with resultant adverse impacts upon biodiversity, aquifer sustainability, climate change and even human health. There are also indirect economic consequences of this environmental degradation in the form of ecosystem services attrition.
Ozone depletion: Ozone depletion describes two distinct, but related observations: a slow, steady decline of about four percent per decade in the total amount of ozone in Earth's stratosphere. CFCs and other contributory substances are commonly referred to as ozone-depleting substances. Ozone depletion has its harmful effects on humans, animals and other environmental factors. It is suspected that a variety of biological consequences such as increases in skin cancer, damage to plants, and reduction of plankton populations in the ocean's photic zone may result from the increased UV exposure due to ozone depletion.
Resource Depletion: Resources are commonly divided between renewable resources and non-renewable resources. Use of either of these forms of resources beyond their rate of replacement is considered to be resource depletion. Resource depletion is most commonly used in reference to the farming, fishing, mining, and fossil fuels. Excessive or unnecessary use of resources, Non-equitable distribution of resources, Overpopulation, Slash and burn agricultural practices in many developing countries and Technological and industrial development are some major causes of resources depletion.
Genetic pollution: Genetic pollution is undesirable gene flow into wild populations. Conservation biologists and conservationists sometimes use it to describe gene flow from a domestic, feral, non-native or invasive species to a wild population. Use of the term is however controversial. While in the field of agriculture, agroforestry and animal husbandry genetic pollution is being used to describe the undesirable gene flow between GE species and wild relatives.
Environmental impact of waste: Many different types of waste have negative impacts upon the wider environment. Waste pollution is considered a serious threat by many and can broadly be defined as any pollution associated with waste and waste management practices. Biodegradable waste is of specific concern as breaks down in landfills to form methane, a potent greenhouse gas. Littering can be considered the most visible form of solid waste pollution. Marine debris, also known as marine litter, is human-created waste that has deliberately or accidentally become afloat in a lake, sea, ocean or waterway.
